Tuition Refund Plan
What is the Tuition Refund Plan?

Recognizing the substantial investment of an education at Anna Maria College, we have concern for the student who suffers a serious illness or accident and has to leave the College for that reason before the end of the term is completed. In many instances, it means not only the loss of time invested in studies, but also the loss of the charges paid for the term. With this in mind, the College has made arrangements to provide a Tuition Refund Insurance Plan (TRP), which is designed to minimize the risk of financial loss for undergraduate students and families if a covered illness or accident occurs. A.W.G. Dewar, Inc. offers this program at a cost of $408 for undergraduate resident students, and $308 for undergraduate commuter students. The charge is billed in the Fall 2025 semester and covers the full academic year. *The cost for new incoming Spring 2026 undergraduate students is $204 for residents, and $154 for commuters.

You are assured by Dewar of up to an 80% refund throughout the semester, even after the College’s refund policy has expired, for withdrawals due to valid medical and mental health issues.

** The deadline to waive this coverage for the Fall 2025 semester is August 25, 2025.

Student Health Insurance
Anna Maria College offers an extremely comprehensive health insurance plan through Blue Cross and Blue Shield (BCBS) for the 2025-2026 Academic year.

Undergraduate Students

Since September of 1989, Massachusetts law, G.L. c.15A, § 18, has required every college student participating in at least 75% of the full-time curriculum to participate in a Student Health Insurance Program or in a health benefit plan with comparable coverage. Therefore, all domestic students enrolled in at least 75% of the full-time curriculum are automatically charged the Student Health Insurance Fee. Massachusetts state law requires all international students studying in Massachusetts to have health insurance, regardless of the visa or number of credits. To ensure that all international students are provided the most cost-effective coverage, and to meet the Massachusetts state and U.S. immigration law requirements, international students are automatically charged the Student Health Insurance Fee.

If the student is already enrolled in a comparable health insurance plan, then the student must fill out an online waiver form at www.universityhealthplans.com. If you do not submit an online waiver form by the published deadline, you will automatically be enrolled in the College’s Student Health Insurance Plan and responsible for the fee.

Please contact University Health Plans at info@univhealthplans.com with questions regarding insurance coverage requirements. The Student Accounts Office cannot review plan eligibility, recommend policies, or review the state’s coverage requirements with students or families.

The Undergraduate Student Health Insurance Fee is $3,031 for the 2025-2026 academic year and will be charged on the Fall 2025 bill. Annual coverage is effective 8/01/25 –7/31/26. The deadline to waive the Student Health Insurance Plan is September 12, 2025.

*The cost for new incoming Spring 2026 undergraduate students is $1,791, and the Spring waiver deadline will be announced in November 2025.

Students must be enrolled in their existing policy prior 9/01/25 to be eligible to complete the waiver. Waivers are subject to University Health Plan’s approval. The charge for the College’s annual policy may remain/be reassessed if the student’s existing coverage doesn’t meet the Commonwealth’s coverage requirements.
